Our Practice:

HFN’s Antitrust and Competition department has considerable experience advising major domestic and international companies on all types of antitrust and competition issues in Israel. The department stands out among its Israeli counterparts for its international capabilities and ongoing cooperation with leading international law firms and other advisors in conducting reviews of multi-jurisdictional antitrust issues arising in global M&A transactions.

Our Work:

Legal services provided by the Antitrust and Competition department include:

  • Advising on all aspects of antitrust issues regarding the structuring of mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and all other forms of business co-operations

  • Advising on all issues of monopoliesand dominant positions, oligopolies, horizontal and vertical restrictive arrangements

  • Representation before the Restrictive Trade Practices (RTP) Commissionerin procedures involving the approvals of mergers, pre-ruling opinions, exemptions for restrictive arrangements and inquiries initiated by the RTP Commissioner

  • Representing clients under criminal investigation by the RTP Commissioner

  • Representation before the Restrictive Trade Practices Tribunaland before the Israeli Parliament and relevant Committees and Ministries

  • Representing clients in private litigation in Israeli courts on antitrust and competition claims

Our Team:

The Antitrust and Competition department is led by Boaz Golan, who prior to joining HFN served for five years as the General Counsel of the Israel Antitrust Authority. In this role, he led numerous antitrust and competition cases, both civil and criminal, was in charge of major legislative amendments and took a leading role in shaping the Authority’s policies.
