Our Work:

The Investment Banking group has substantial experience in advising banks, investment banks, portfolio managers, fund managers and similar institutions planning to offer financial services or products in Israel whether on a cross-border basis or through establishing a local office or branch.

The group provides a full range of advice on all aspects of investment banking and securities brokering, including advising on:

• Regulatory and licensing implications of cross-border services, establishing branches, subsidiaries and representative offices of overseas financial institutions
• Complex financial derivatives, including multi-currency, interest rate, equity and credit default swaps, commodity derivatives, repos and other products
• Web-based securities- and currency-dealing services
• Tax treatment of financial products and tax efficient investment structures
• Use of international market standard documentation, including ISDA, GMRA and GMSLA
• Prime brokerage services
• Issues of insolvency, netting and collateralisation

Our Team:

Led by partners Alan Sacks and Eliot Sacks, the Investment Banking group plays a key role within the Banking and Finance department. The group is supported by Irit Roth, who until joining HFN as partner acted for 11 years as General Counsel to Citibank in Israel.
