ADMINISTRATIVE LAW

Herzog, Fox & Neeman's administrative law team represents a broad spectrum of industries and businesses with regard to all aspects of governmental and regulatory matters, including disputes involving government authorities.

Members of the team have in-depth knowledge of the complex workings of governmental institutions and two of the senior partners have served as top-level officials of the Israeli government. Founding partner Yaakov Neeman has been Israel's Minister of Finance, Minister of Justice, and Director General of the Ministry of Finance in addition to his membership on various public committees. Meir Linzen, and Yaacov Sharvit have served as senior officers in the International Law Department of the Office of the Advocate General of the Israeli Defence Forces.

The administrative law team advises a wide variety of sectors with respect to their interaction with government authorities, including the Ministries of Defence, Finance, Communications, Health, Trade and Industry (including the Investment Centre and the Office of the Chief Scientist) and acts as liaison for HFN's corporate clients.

In addition the firm provides comprehensive advice regarding public tenders issued by government bodies.

The administrative law team handles a broad range of administrative petitions against government authorities, including numerous cases before the Israeli Supreme Court in its capacity as the high court of justice.   HFN has provided legal counsel on petitions against parallel imports of pharmaceuticals, represented the Greek Patriarch in his petition against the government, represented the Prime Minister in a response to a petition regarding his son's role in negotiations with the Palestinian Authority and acted in a petition against the Ministry of Defence in a landmark case regarding freedom of speech in reference to inscriptions on tombstones.   HFN also acts for a number of organisations representing Israel's agricultural sector in petitions against government authorities.
