HFN Receives Declaratory Judgment in Employment Matter

The Regional Labour Court in Beer Sheva issued a declaratory judgment in the matter of Meir Gershon Harel, an employee, against HFN's client, Ashdod Port Company Ltd. The employee sought to cancel his termination from the Ashdod Port Company following a conviction of moral turpitude, and to allow his reinstatement in the company.

The court accepted all of Ashdod Port Company's claims, determining that it was not at fault and that the decision to terminate the plaintiff convicted of moral turpitude was reached in accordance with the collective agreements between the parties involved. The court determined that no defect in the termination process or the hearing was proven, and that there is no doubt the termination was appropriate and reasonable, rendering no room for court intervention.

This matter was led by Tamar Bachar of the Labour and Employment Law department.
